[Final Event] Mixed Group Documentary Night: Divided Highways

Friday, December 11, 2026, 6:45 PM EST

Held at Northwest Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 1025 Mount Vernon Hwy, Sandy Springs, GA

Hosted by Vegan Social Clubs

In-Person Documentary Night is usually held on every 2nd Friday of the month. This event was designed to give people the chance to discuss interesting ideas and topics explored in the documentaries that we have chosen as a group to watch. This month we voted to watch the the documentary, [Divided Highways](https://documentarynight.wordpress.com/2026/10/10/divided-highways/). A delightful essay on the history of the interstate highway system, this film describes how freeways have transformed the continent in physical, sociological and psychological ways. The creation of new cities, the division and destruction of neighborhoods, and the evolution of fast-food, are living proof of the everlasting power of pavement.

[Unfortunately there is no trailer available for this film]

We will start the film PROMPTLY AT 7:10 PM.

For the event we will meet together in the sanctuary at Northwest Unitarian Universalist Congregation, where we will watch the film together. Then we will participate in multiple rounds of small group discussions with a different groups for each round. This gives you the opportunity to meet new people and hear a variety of perspectives throughout the night. We would normally end the night by brainstorming and voting as a group on what we will watch next month.

However, due to changing circumstances, the In-Person Documentary Nights will be postponed indefinitely starting in January. Therefore, this will be the final event for the foreseeable future. If you are still interested in attending future discussions, the Virtual Documentary Night programs will still be available online. Hopefully you are able to join us there!

Feel free to bring your dinner! Decaf and caffeinated tea will be provided. We will also be having potluck style snacks! So you are welcome to bring food to share with others, whether homemade or store-bought. Please bring foods that won't be distracting for others during the film or the discussion. Vegan, nut free snacks are preferred
