VSDC Gathering at 2:15 pm at Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary Open House
Sunday, September 27, 2026, 1:00 PM EDT
Held at Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary, 15200 Mount Nebo Rd M, Poolesville, MD
Hosted by Veg Society of DC
The [Poplar Spring](https://www.animalsanctuary.org/) Annual Open House and Fundraiser is being held on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 1 to 4 pm
Join [VSDC](www.vsdc.org) and hundreds of people for the Open House, featuring a live band, catered vegan food and drinks, and a chance to stroll around and visit the rescued animals. Again, there is no admission fee, but donations (of any amount) to Poplar Spring are very much appreciated. For further information, see their [website](https://www.animalsanctuary.org/events/annual-events/).
Our group will meet at 2:15 pm to the right of the small gift shop structure to connect and hear from Terry Cummings, the co-founder, who will provide an overview of Poplar Spring and its residents. After that, we can enjoy a piece of cake (served at 3 pm) and visit with the animals.
Bring a chair, a hat, a water bottle, and anything else you need for this outdoor event.
If you want to offer a ride to others or are looking for a ride to this event, please use the "Start the conversation" comments section below to connect. Please use good sense when arranging rides with those you don't know.
