Date Night, a virtual speed dating platform born out of COVID-era isolation, has partnered with PETA for the third time this year to run speed dating events built specifically for vegans.
Stephanie Small, Date Night's head of community, explains the format: daters meet for up to seven minutes each, with a short break in between, letting participants meet up to seven people in an hour. Events run roughly every two months, open to ages 18 to 81 so far, across the US and Canada.
A quarter of net event proceeds go to PETA, which has already funded 19 backyard dog houses for dogs without adequate shelter. For a community that Stephanie says has a hard time finding partners who share the same values, the platform doubles as both a matchmaking tool and a fundraising engine.
