Chef Jenny Chicoye is the proud owner of Buku Vegan where she spreads love into every dish she prepares. We caught up with her at Vegan Block Party in Fort Lauderdale along with John Lewis aka Badass Vegan and Toree Washington.

Jenny Chicoye’s journey into mindfulness and veganism began eight years ago, influenced by a family member’s illness and her extensive research into the impacts of animal-based diets on health, animal welfare, and the environment. This led her to adopt a plant-based lifestyle, enhancing her vibrancy and changing her relationship with food. She became a self-taught plant-based chef and baker, known for her Buku Vegan brand and unique creations like Buku Jars and carrot cake.

Jenny’s dedication, influenced by her immigrant entrepreneur background, sets her apart in her field. She envisions expanding Buku Vegan to include a community garden, event space, and educational programs on sustainable living and self-care over the next 5-10 years.
